This is a conservation chisel plough that mounts the chisel plough tine. The frame consists of a cutting coulter, tine, and depth control roller. This frame was designed for the Africa market where farmers have small tractors and plant in virgin soil. The purpose of the Wajanja is to loosen the soil on the row that will be planted. Due to only disturbing the soil in the planting row, this implement is classified as a conservation tillage implement. The word Wajanja is the Swahili word for “bakgat”/clever.
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS:
- The The tine has the capability of a working depth from 150mm – 300mm.
- Depth control is done by the Ø400mm tube cage roller.
- The frame has 1 row of tines.
- Tine spacing of 762mm.
- The tine uses a leaf spring as a tripping mechanism and has a breakaway force of 760 kg.
- The tines mount to 100x100x10mm tubing made from steel with a yield stress of 355Mpa. This is 135MPa stronger than normal structural steel tubing.
- The underframe clearance of the tine is 790mm.
- The tine can trip 300mm high.
- The frame comes standard with a straight 17’’ coulter mounted on rubber cords for breakaway. The coulter is positioned in the centre of each tine.
